They worked hard on sequencing activities, explored the magic of light energy, and practiced their fine motor skills—all while learning about the importance of nonprofits in our community. The highlight of the week? Our AE students came together to decorate a Family Game Night tree for a family in need as part of Carroll’s Tree Forest, culminating their learning. 🎄🎲✨ Their creativity and kindness truly shined as they helped spread holiday joy! Students explored what happens when steel wool burns, observing the fascinating chemical reactions in action. 💡✨ As part of the experiment, students made predictions about changes in mass and analyzed the results after combustion. 📖✍️ AP English Lang Students Take on Relationship Drama! 💔➡️💌 Mrs. Marshall's AP English Lang students stepped into the role of advice columnists, tackling a synthesis challenge like never before! 🎓✨ The scenario? A quarreling high school couple, Marc and Carly, hit a rough patch six months into their relationship. Students dove into a variety of "sources"—from schedules and social media posts to all the juicy school gossip 🗣️💬. Their mission: write a thoughtful, evidence-based DM to either Marc or Carly with their best advice. Congratulations to Mrs. Markert for her receipt of a CCEF grant!!! Thanks to Mrs. Markert's and Mr. Garza's efforts writing this grant, students will be able to explore DNA, proteins, and cellular processes, using tools like the P51 Molecular Florescence Viewer and BioBits Labs. With activities like visualizing molecules and designing experiments, students will gain a deeper understanding of biology concepts while having fun. These labs are aligned to STAAR and AP standards, so it won't be just engaging lessons- these resources will also prepare students for success.
