The HEB Plastic Bag Contest has ended. Please do not send bags to school, but please continue to recycle your plastic bags by taking them to your local HEB.

Thank you again for all of your help in making this contest a huge success! The best prize though is that these bags will not end up in our coastal waters or landfills.

Athenafest Raffle – Sell Tickets & Win Big!
Students have received 25 raffle tickets to sell for Athenafest! Each ticket is $1 and offers a chance to win amazing prizes like a $500 Visa gift card, Nintendo Switch, Apple AirPods, and more! The drawing will be held Friday, April 4th at 7:00 p.m. at Athenafest (attendance not required to win). Our hope is for each student to sell at least 25 tickets.

We are so excited and proud to announce that the Sock Fundraiser sponsored by third grade has successfully raised enough money to send two students to school in Uganda. The final order of socks should be arriving soon. Thank you to everyone bought socks!
We will be STAAR testing on April 15, April 23 and April 29. The campus will be closed to visitors, including those having lunch with their children, on these dates.

We have collected nearly 40,000 bags and hope to surpass last year's collection of 50,000 bags.
Please continue to send in your clean and dry plastic bags from any store, newspaper bags, produce bags, bread bags, overwrap from bottled water, toilet paper or paper towel packaging, plastic package delivery envelopes including bubble wrap envelopes, plastic package insulation like plastic air bags and bubble wrap, plastic food storage bags, zipper sandwich bags, and plastic six-pack rings.
The contest ends on April 4, but you can still recycle all of these items at HEB.
Camp Invention at Windsor Park will be taking place June 3-6 from 8 am-4pm. Cost is $305 for the week with payment plans available and extended day for an additional fee. See the Windsor Park Owl Express Newsletter for a discount code.
We only need to sell 13 more pairs of socks to send Austin to school in Uganda. Austin is 14 and lives in Kampala, Uganda. He loves Social Studies, playing football, and dreams of being a pilot. He is cared for by his single mother who is unable to afford school tuition.

Austin lives in Kampala, Uganda and attends Alpha and Omega Primary School. His favorite subject is Social Studies, and he loves football. His is raised by his single mother who spends all of the money earned to keep her family fed so there is no money for school fees. Austin dreams of becoming a pilot when he grows up.

Friendly Reminder: The loan period for our school library is one week. Please make sure to return or renew all books on your weekly library day.
HEB's annual plastic bag challenge invites schools to collect a variety of plastic bags in recognition of Earth Day. They award all participating schools $150 with the winning school receiving up to $500. Please help the environment by bringing in your plastic bags to WP during the months of February and March.
Please have your child count the items before bringing them to school and make sure that they are clean and dry. The winning class in each grade level and the overall campus winner will receive prizes.
